Honesty and loyalty

It is always honesty or loyalty; there is no such thing as honest loyalty.

Sarah and Felix were friends; everything was going well until Sarah decided to confess her flaw to Felix. They have been good friends for a very long time and they know each other so well that that even when their parents can’t guess their next move one of the two of them knows it. They know each other’s attitude; they know what they can do and what they can’t do. None of them had the issue of taking what does not belong to them, so it was a kind of shock when Sarah said she stole a medicine from a medicine store. She tried to talk herself out of the guilt but the deed was done. She said her mum was on the sick bed and that she had no money




She tried to reach him (Felix) but she couldn’t get through to him. Felix couldn’t believe but as a friend he made sure she promised not to do that again, and she did promise and as well also made him promise not to tell anyone and he did. Unfortunately the medicine store had a cctv camera and it spotted her, so the store owner reported the incident to the police but he wasn’t ready to place any charges he was only curious to know why a gentle young lady was willing to do what she did, because from the camera footage she looked really terrified.



As expected, the police officers carried out their investigations and they got to know Sarah has only one friend in her school no one else but Felix. So they caught up with Felix and started asking him questions about his friend. He had been honest up until when they asked him if he knew his friend when to a medicine store to steal? He froze. As you all know, an honest answer would have been yes, but a loyal answer would be no. He froze and could not say a word. Luckily for him, Sarah just came out not knowing police  were with him asking questions about her. She couldn’t lie. She told them the truth and they also related the story just as she told them to the owner of the store, and he felt pity for her and took all the medical bills of her mum on him until she was hale and hearty as before.  


 Sarah was fortunate enough to receive compassion from the owner of the store not everyone could be or would be as lucky as she was but that’s not today’s story. Whether you like it or not there is only one out of the two, it is either you are a loyal friend or you are honest friend. There is no such thing as honest loyalty in any hierarchy of life it is either you are a loyal follower to a leader or your are an honest follower.  And so on….

Rethink your circle

Who are those in your circle? What type of friends do you keep?  There's a saying that goes thus "the average of 5 people you walk with sums up your life" we could agree to disagree on this, your choice! but it still remains true. Interestingly sometimes you have a little setback or challenge and you are scared to share with your friends!! does that even make sense?  You be thinking in your head, If I tell them they will laugh and make jest of me  and they will not even take it serious no matter what.  What kind of a circle is that?
